Allison was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Auburn University and received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is additionally certified in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling, and she is currently under supervision as an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) in the state of Alabama. Prior to joining Birmingham Recovery Center, Allison worked at a nonprofit catering to individuals affected by domestic and sexual violence. Allison has experience in treating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, and family systems concerns. She is passionate about creating a warm, safe, and empathetic environment in which clients can empower themselves and recognize their innate individual strengths, so that they may begin to overcome personal adversity and lead healthier, and more joyful, lives. Allison strives to practice a collaborative, person-centered approach with all clients, integrating cognitive behavioral, narrative, and motivational interviewing therapeutic treatment modalities. She is delighted to be a part of the treatment team and join clients on their journeys towards personal growth and recovery.
